SCADA Engineer -Commonwealth Edison

Starting in 2020, I joined the Distribution Protection Modernization department. I have been learning how to develop point lists, program RTU’s , and how to read Substation drawings, for SCADA and Relay. Currently my duties involve:

• Reviewing prints for accuracy.
• Developing point lists.
• Developing RTU settings.
• Using Python to update reports.
• Provide SCADA feedback on projects in development.

Distribution Planning Engineer

For 8 years I worked as a distribution planner for the northwest side of Chicago, and the Illinois Medical District. I revised the capacity requirements of the system, and proposed plans to address areas of concern. Developed plans, and saw distribution feeder, and substation upgrades complete to meet the needs of our rate payers. I performed analysis using CYME and other tools available. I also worked on the roll out of the voltage optimization program to our distribution planners, assisting with the choice of control system, and guidelines for designing VO for our system. I also assisted with training of many future planners.

New Business Engineer

For 9 years I worked as a new business engineer, developing designs to connect new customers to ComEd’s grid. This involved developing plans for line extensions, sizing equipment properly. I also spoke with the customer and determined their needs, as well as shared status updates with them. Finally I project managed various aspects of their projects, including aligning construction resources to ensure the customers delivery dates were met.
