In the summer of 2022 we spent a night at the Grand Canyon. The first thing I will say is , “that’s a big hole!”. We knew that it was a dark sky site, and we got to see the Milky Way for the first time. Seeing the immense beauty of a night sky full of stars, was amazing. It is difficult for me to see such amazing complexity, with order and not see the hand of a creator. I found this a touching moment shared with my son’s and recommend making the trip. You can’t see the work of thousands of years of patient carving, or the beauty of the light , unless you place yourself in a place of darkness.
